Can You Still Use an LG Exalt in 2026?

Maybe, the LG Exalt may still work in 2026, depending on the version and carrier. What works, what doesn't, and what to check.

The LG Exalt came out in 2014. It depends on the version: the original LG Exalt is 3G only and dead, but the LG Exalt LTE still works on Verizon.

Key takeaways

Software: LG's basic phone software.
Check the IMEI before switching carriers.

The quick answer

  • Original Exalt: no calls
  • Exalt LTE: yes, on Verizon
  • Stuck with basic software either way
  • LG left the phone business in 2021, so no updates

Calls after the 3G shutdown

The 2014 Exalt (VN220) used Verizon's 3G network for calls, which shut down at the end of 2022. The Exalt LTE (2017) supports VoLTE and is still approved on Verizon. The LTE version says "4G LTE" on the front.

How to check yours

  1. Find the IMEI: dial *#06#, or look in the phone's settings or under the battery.
  2. Enter it in your carrier's compatibility checker. Every major carrier and most prepaid brands have one.
  3. If it isn't supported, it's usually missing approval for VoLTE (calls over 4G), which every US phone now needs.

Who it still works for

The Exalt LTE still works as a basic Verizon phone. The original should be replaced.

If you're replacing it

If you want to stay with a flip phone, the Nokia 2780 Flip and Kyocera DuraXV Extreme+ are current models with VoLTE. A basic phone pairs well with a small plan: Tello and US Mobile both have plans under $10 a month for talk and text.
