Ultra Mobile is a T-Mobile MVNO that competes on one idea: every plan, including the cheapest, includes unlimited talk to 90+ international destinations, global text to 200+, and unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada. Most prepaid brands sell those as add-ons.

The pricing is where Ultra gets confusing. The same 12GB plan is $29/mo if you buy one month at a time and $14/mo if you prepay a year — a 52% difference for identical service. Any comparison against Mint, Visible or Cricket has to specify which term you mean, so the full matrix is below.

Ultra quotes prices before taxes and fees and requires payment upfront. The fees are modest and disclosed — roughly $1.25–$2.25/mo depending on term and tier, plus state tax.

The term discount is the single biggest lever on this page. Ultra Unlimited is $49/mo monthly and $23.80/mo annually — the same plan for less than half. If you're confident you'll stay a year, buying monthly is leaving real money behind.

Read the renewal rate before committing. The 6 and 12-month prices are introductory: annual 12GB is $14/mo for the first year, then $20. Still cheaper than monthly, but not the headline number.
