T-Mobile sets its APN automatically on nearly every phone. When it doesn't, usually on an imported or older unlocked phone, data and picture messages fail while calls still work. These are the values from T-Mobile's own support page.

Key takeaways
T-Mobile's APN is fast.t-mobile.com.
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc, no proxy or port.
MCC 310, MNC 260, APN protocol IPv4/IPv6.
Restart with the SIM in before editing anything.
VoLTE must be on for calls to work on T-Mobile.

Check these first

  1. Restart the phone with the SIM or eSIM installed. Most phones request carrier settings again on boot.
  2. Confirm mobile data is on, airplane mode is off, and the right line is set for data on a dual-SIM phone.
  3. Make sure activation finished in the carrier's app. A pending activation looks like an APN problem.

T-Mobile lists epc.tmobile.com for older phones without LTE. Any phone sold in the last decade should use fast.t-mobile.com.

Where to enter them

  • Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Access Point Names, then add a new APN. On Samsung: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
  • iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network. This menu only appears when the carrier allows it; most iPhones set the APN automatically.
  • Leave any field not listed blank, save, select the new APN, and restart.
Picture messages failing but data works?
That almost always means the MMSC or MMS proxy is mistyped. Re-enter those two fields exactly, including http://, with no spaces.

If it still won't connect

Reset network settings, restart, and try again. If data still fails, the phone may be locked to another carrier or missing T-Mobile's bands. Check the lock status before spending more time on APN fields.

Paying full price for T-Mobile?

Mint, Metro and Tello use the same network from $20–$30/mo.
