Where the data actually stops

The $24.99 plan slows after 7GB. The four plans above it are branded unlimited but reduce speeds after 50GB of high-speed use, and the reduction holds until your plan renews. You are never charged an overage fee — PureTalk states this plainly — and you can buy additional high-speed data from the Add-Ons page in your account if you need it before the cycle turns.

What the advertised price leaves out

Taxes and fees are extra on every monthly plan, so treat each price as a floor rather than a bill. That matters most at the bottom: a $24.99 plan billing at $30-plus is a different value proposition than the one on the pricing page. Everything else PureTalk advertises — no contracts, no overage fees, keep your number and phone — holds up.

PureTalk is running $15/mo on any plan for the first three billing cycles, which is a real discount even on the entry tier and a large one at the top ($149.97 saved over three months on the $64.99 plan). Regular pricing begins at month four. The offer runs 7/8/26 through 9/8/26, is open to new customers and existing customers adding a line, and excludes taxes and fees. • The watch plan is free as a perk on $44.99 and up; the tablet plan is free on the $64.99 plan.

Where PureTalk wins

• You want AT&T coverage without AT&T postpaid pricing, which runs $50–$110 for a single unlimited line.
• You're a light-to-moderate data user — the $24.99/7GB plan covers most people's actual usage.
• You tether a lot. At $64.99 with 30GB of dedicated hotspot data, PureTalk is genuinely competitive.
• You're eligible for the 20% military or first-responder discount, which reprices the whole ladder.
• You want a US-based human on the phone, which most budget MVNOs don't offer.

Where it loses

• Heavy phone-data users: 50GB is the ceiling on every unlimited plan, and paying $30 more doesn't lift it.
• Anyone comparing on headline price alone — taxes and fees are extra, and several competitors include them.
• Shoppers who want a store. PureTalk is online-only by design.
• MVNO traffic on AT&T can be deprioritized during congestion, so peak-hour speeds won't match AT&T postpaid.
