Best No Credit Check Phone Plans

Every plan on this page activates without a credit check, without a deposit and without a contract. That is the normal way prepaid wireless works — you pay for the month ahead, so the carrier is never extending you credit and has nothing to check.

How we judged these plans

The best no-credit-check plans cost $9.10 to $35 a month on Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T coverage. We ranked them on all-in monthly cost, which network you land on, whether you can get help in a store, and how much the price moves after the first bill.

Our verdict

Total MAX 5G BYO, at $25/mo

This is the rare prepaid plan that does not put you at the back of the queue. Total MAX carries premium data on Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband, so you are not deprioritized behind postpaid customers the way most prepaid brands are, and the hotspot is unlimited rather than a token allowance. The $25 is genuinely all-in — taxes and fees are in the number — and Total Wireless holds it for five years. For a plan that asks nothing about your credit, that is a better deal than most postpaid customers are on.

The catch: The $25 requires AutoPay; without it the rate is $30. It is also BYOD only, so you cannot finance a phone on it — which is the trade at the heart of every plan on this page. Hotspot speed is capped at 5 Mbps, fine for a laptop and email, slow for video.

💡

A no-credit-check plan is not the same as a no-ID plan. Every carrier here still verifies identity at activation, and several run an identity check that is not a credit check — Tracfone's ID verification is the most visible example. If you are activating without a Social Security number, a passport or ITIN is generally accepted; buying the SIM in a store is the path with the fewest surprises.

Top picks — the short version

The best no-credit-check phone plans cost $25 a month or less for full unlimited service. The right pick comes down to three questions: which network covers your area, do you need to walk into a store, and can you pay for more than one month at a time?

Best overall: Total MAX 5G BYO — $25/mo all-in on Verizon Ultra Wideband, five-year price lock.
Best choice of network: US Mobile Unlimited Starter — $25/mo, pick Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T.
Simplest all-in price: Visible Base — $25/mo on Verizon, taxes included, 15-day free trial.
Best walk-in support: Metro $25 — pay cash in a store, five-year price guarantee.
Best data per dollar: Lycamobile 15GB — $10/mo if you prepay a year.
Cheapest real line: Ultra Mobile 4GB — $9.10/mo on a twelve-month term.
Best for two or more lines: H2O Multi-Line Unlimited — $25 a line, 60GB full speed each.
Best on AT&T: Cricket Select Unlimited — $35/mo all-in with retail stores behind it.

Why These Plans Win

Every plan is scored against the same four pillars. Here is why each one made the ranking, who it fits, and what to watch for.

1
Total MAX 5G BYO Best overall
Verizon's fastest tier of network access, all-in at $25, with the price locked for five years.
Price verified August 4, 2026
$25/mo
See the verdict above
Best for Anyone with a phone already in hand who wants Verizon's best network access without a credit check or a deposit.
2
US Mobile Unlimited Starter Best choice of network
The same $25 all-in price on whichever of the three networks actually works where you live.
Price verified August 4, 2026

Coverage is local, and the honest answer to "which carrier is best" is usually "whichever one works at your address." US Mobile is the only carrier here that lets you choose — Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T — and switch later if you picked wrong. Activation is eSIM and takes minutes, taxes are included in the $25, and there is a 30-day free trial before you port your number, so you can test the network without giving up your current line.

Best for People who have had bad coverage on one network and do not want to guess again.
Watch for Support is app and chat only — there is no store to walk into. The Starter tier has a high-speed allotment before deprioritization and only a modest hotspot; heavy tethering belongs on Premium.
3
Visible Base Simplest all-in price
One price, taxes included, unlimited everything, and a 15-day trial to prove the coverage.
Price verified August 4, 2026

Visible is Verizon's own app-run brand, so the coverage is the real thing and the billing is as simple as prepaid gets: $25, taxes and fees included, unlimited data, unlimited hotspot at 5 Mbps, no add-ons to decline. For someone who has been burned by a bill that arrived larger than the advertised price — a common reason people end up looking for no-credit-check plans in the first place — the all-in number is the feature.

Best for Anyone who wants one predictable charge a month and no conversations with a carrier.
Watch for Base is deprioritized behind Verizon's postpaid customers, so speeds drop in congested places at busy times. Everything runs through the app; there is no phone support line and no retail counter.
4
Metro $25 Best walk-in support
A store you can walk into, a person who can activate the line, and a price held for five years.
Price verified August 4, 2026

Every other plan near this price is digital-only, and that is a real barrier if you do not have a card, need help porting a number, or simply want to hand someone cash and leave with a working phone. Metro has physical stores nearly everywhere, taxes are included in the $25, and T-Mobile guarantees the rate for five years on talk, text and 5G data. It is the plan to recommend to someone who needs service today and wants a human involved.

Best for Cash payers, first-time activations, and anyone who wants in-person help setting the phone up.
Watch for The first month is $30, and $25 thereafter requires AutoPay. There is no hotspot on this tier at all, and data may slow past 35GB when the network is busy. Our 6.8 reflects the feature set, not the support — you are paying for the counter.
5
Lycamobile $29 (15GB) Best data per dollar
15GB a month for $10 if you can pay $120 up front for the year.
Price verified August 4, 2026

Nothing else here comes close on cost per gigabyte. Twelve months costs $120, which works out to $10 a month for 15GB of high-speed data on T-Mobile, plus unlimited international calling and texting to 100 countries — the reason Lycamobile exists and a genuine advantage for anyone with family abroad. Paying annually also removes the monthly failure point: the line cannot lapse because a payment did not go through.

Best for Anyone who can cover a year up front and wants the lowest possible cost per gigabyte.
Watch for The $120 is promotional against a $348 list price, so budget for the renewal to be higher. Taxes are extra rather than included, Lycamobile does not publish a hotspot allowance on this plan, and month-to-month it is $29 — nearly triple the annual rate.
6
Ultra Mobile 4GB Cheapest real line
$9.10 a month on a twelve-month term for 4GB and unlimited talk and text.
Price verified August 4, 2026

This is the least you can pay for a full line on a major network without it being a talk-and-text-only plan. Ultra sells the same 4GB tier at four term lengths — $19 monthly, $16 for three months, $12.75 for six, $9.10 for twelve — so you can buy as much runway as you can afford rather than being forced into a year. Unlimited calling to 90+ destinations is included, which is unusual at this price.

Best for Light users, second lines, and anyone whose priority is the smallest possible monthly number.
Watch for The $9.10 is introductory and renews at $13. Taxes are extra, roughly $1.25 to $2.25 plus state tax. Video runs at about 480p, and 4GB is not much if you are not usually on Wi-Fi.
7
H2O Multi-Line Unlimited Best for two or more lines
$25 a line with 60GB of full-speed data each — the same allowance H2O sells alone for more.
Price verified August 4, 2026

Family plans are where no-credit-check shopping usually falls apart, because the postpaid carriers put their best multi-line pricing behind exactly the credit approval you are trying to avoid. H2O does not: two lines are $50, three $75, four $100, and every line gets 60GB at full speed plus 5GB of hotspot and unlimited calling to 100+ countries. There is no overage — speeds reduce, service never switches off.

Best for Households moving several lines at once, especially with regular international calling.
Watch for It requires two or more lines; there is no single-line version at this rate. Taxes are extra, roughly $1.60 to $3.00 a line before state tax, so the real four-line cost is closer to $110.
8
Cricket Select Unlimited Best on AT&T
AT&T coverage with taxes included and a retail network behind it.
Price verified August 4, 2026

If AT&T is the network that works where you live, Cricket is the cleanest way onto it without a credit check. It is AT&T's own prepaid brand, the $35 includes taxes, and unlike the digital-only options there are stores for activation and support. Four lines run $100, or $25 each, which is competitive with anything here.

Best for People in AT&T-strong areas who want unlimited data and somewhere to go when something breaks.
Watch for New lines only — existing Cricket customers cannot switch to it. No hotspot is included, video is SD on cellular, and the first month is $40. Data is deprioritized behind AT&T postpaid during congestion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do any phone plans really skip the credit check? +
Yes — every prepaid plan does, and that covers most of the market. You pay for service before you use it, so the carrier is not lending you anything and has no reason to run a check. The plans that do check are postpaid plans billed at the end of the month, which is what Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T sell under their own brands.
Will a no-credit-check plan hurt my credit score? +
No. There is no inquiry, so there is nothing to appear on your report. The flip side is that on-time payments are not reported either, so a prepaid line will not help you build credit the way some postpaid accounts can.
Can I get a phone plan with no credit check and no deposit? +
Every plan on this page has no deposit. Deposits exist to protect a carrier that has already given you a month of service; prepaid removes that risk entirely, so the deposit goes with it.
Do I need a Social Security number? +
Not usually for the credit side, but carriers still verify identity. A passport or ITIN is generally accepted, and activating in a store tends to be smoother than online, where automated identity checks are less forgiving. Tracfone's ID verification is the one most people run into.
Can I keep my current phone number? +
Yes. Number portability is a legal right and applies to prepaid exactly as it does to postpaid. Keep the old line active until the port completes, and start the port with your account number and transfer PIN from the old carrier rather than cancelling first.
Is the coverage worse without a credit check? +
The coverage footprint is identical — these are the same towers. What differs is priority: most prepaid and MVNO plans are deprioritized behind the network's own postpaid customers, so speeds can drop at busy times in crowded places. Total MAX is the exception here, carrying premium data on Verizon.
Can I finance a phone on these plans? +
Generally no, and that is the real trade. Device financing is credit, so it comes with a credit check. Bring a phone you already own, buy one outright, or look at the prepaid brands' own promotional handset pricing, which is discounted rather than financed.
