Total Wireless Deals and Promo Codes: What's Live and What's Worth It

Bring your own phone and Total's best plan is $20 a month with taxes included, locked for five years. Here's every current offer and the catches.

Total Wireless doesn't need promo codes for its best deals: they're built into the price at checkout. Right now, new customers who bring their own unlocked phone pay $30 for the first month on Total MAX 5G BYO, then $20 a month with Auto Pay, taxes and fees included, with a 5-year price guarantee. If you need a phone, the Galaxy A17 5G is free with any plan, the iPhone 16e is $199.99 with a 3-month ALL ACCESS plan, and the iPhone 18 Pro is up to $600 off with Total's financing.

Key takeaways
MAX 5G BYO: $30 the first month, then $20 a month with Auto Pay, taxes included, 5-year price guarantee.

The $20 BYO deal: what you actually pay

MAX 5G BYO is normally $25 a month with Auto Pay. New customers who bring an unlocked, compatible phone pay $30 for the first month and then $20. Because Total includes taxes and fees, that's the full bill.

Year 1Years 1 to 5Per month over 5 years
MAX 5G BYO deal$250$1,210$20.17
MAX 5G BYO regular ($25)$300$1,500$25
Visible with HOLIDAYHACK$228$1,428$23.80
Mint Unlimited, 12-month terms, after a $60 first 6 months$240 + taxes$1,710 + taxes$28.50 + taxes
One line. Total and Visible include taxes. Visible's $19 lasts 12 months, then $25. Mint shows anniversary deal for 6 months, then $30/mo on 12-month terms, before taxes.
  • The price lock covers the plan's base price, not the Auto Pay discount. If the $5 Auto Pay discount ever changed, your bill could rise by that much.
  • Auto Pay must be on. The discount starts the month after you enroll.
  • The phone must be unlocked and from another carrier: Total Wireless, Straight Talk and Tracfone phones don't qualify as BYO.
  • Single line online. To add several BYO lines at once, Total asks you to call or visit a store.

Free phones from Total Wireless

Total's free phones are entry-level models: the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G (normally $129.99) is free with any phone plan, and the moto g (2026) (normally $79.99) is free with MAX 5G or higher. Families can get four free 5G phones on STARTER. These are good basic phones, but check which plan the deal needs: the BYO price is only for phones you already own, so a free phone usually means a plan that costs more than $20.

Do the math on a free phone
If a free phone needs STARTER at $35 instead of BYO at $20, you pay $180 more a year. An unlocked Galaxy A-series phone often costs less than that, so buying the phone yourself and taking the BYO deal can work out cheaper.

iPhone deals at Total Wireless

  • iPhone 16e for $199.99 (normally $599.99) with a 3-month ALL ACCESS plan.
  • In stores: two iPhone 16e and two ALL ACCESS lines for $70 a month with Auto Pay ($95 the first month). New customers, port-in required, two phones per account.
  • iPhone 18 Pro: up to $600 off with Total Wireless Edge financing on ALL ACCESS. Edge spreads the phone over 12 or 24 monthly payments with no down payment, for approved customers.
  • iPhone Duo is sold at full price ($1,999.99).

Two ALL ACCESS lines would normally cost about $120 a month. At $70 with two iPhone 16e included, the in-store deal is one of the cheapest ways to get two iPhones on Verizon's network, if you'd use ALL ACCESS's perks.

Family and multi-line deals

Total's family offer right now is four free 5G phones on the STARTER plan. Multi-line pricing varies by plan and changes often, and BYO lines added several at a time need a call or a store visit. Our Total Wireless plans hub shows multi-line pricing as we last recorded it.

Do Total Wireless promo codes work?

Coupon sites list codes for $100 off or 15% to 20% off. Total does sometimes run codes for sports partnerships and seasonal sales, and new newsletter sign-ups have been offered a discount on a first phone order. But the big savings (the $20 BYO price and free phones) apply automatically. If a code doesn't change your total at checkout, it's expired.

Perks that come with the plans

  • Unlimited calling to and from Mexico on all plans.
  • Disney+ Premium included on ALL ACCESS.
  • Western Union transfer fee waived once a month on select plans.
  • Total Rewards points for Auto Pay renewals and referrals.

Is Total Wireless the best deal on Verizon's network?

For one line with your own phone, it's one of the cheapest: $20 with taxes included is lower than Visible's regular $25, and the 5-year lock is longer than most promotions. Visible's HOLIDAYHACK is cheaper for the first year ($19), but rises to $25 after. See Total Wireless vs Visible for coverage, speeds and support, and Total Wireless plans compared for which plan to pick.

How to get the Total Wireless deal

  1. Check your phone is unlocked and compatible: phones that work with Total Wireless.
  2. Choose MAX 5G BYO online and enter your phone's IMEI to confirm it qualifies.
  3. Port your number from your current carrier. Have your account number and transfer PIN ready.
  4. Turn on Auto Pay. The discount applies from the month after you enroll.
  5. Activate with eSIM for the fastest setup.

Our verdict

If you have an unlocked phone, take the $20 MAX 5G BYO deal: it's the best plan Total sells at its lowest price, with taxes included and a 5-year lock. If you need a phone, compare the free Galaxy offer against buying a cheap unlocked phone and taking BYO. For two iPhones, the in-store ALL ACCESS deal is worth a visit.
