How To Connect to T-Mobile's Free In-Flight Wi-Fi

In-flight Wi-Fi is included on T-Mobile's consumer postpaid plans, and connecting to it takes about thirty seconds once you know where to tap. Your phone number is the only credential — there's no password, no code from an email, and nothing to pay at the gate. The five steps below are the whole process, followed by which plans in T-Mobile's current Experience lineup actually carry the benefit.

T-Mobile Free In-Flight Wi-Fi: How to Connect

1) Turn on Wi-Fi when you're on the plane

When on the plane, put your phone into airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi.

2) Next, make sure Wi-Fi is enabled now.

Note: If you don't see it right away, don't worry. Sometimes, you have to wait until after you're in the air for the flight crew to let you know that it's been activated.

3) Select the Wi-Fi network and open your browser

After you select the Wi-Fi network, open up your browser or it may open automatically for you. Once you have a browser open, you'll be automatically redirected to the login page.

4) Select In-Flight Connection on Us and enter your phone number

From there, select In-Flight Connection On Us and enter your T-Mobile mobile telephone number.

5) Tap Get Wi-Fi & texting and that's it

The button sits near the bottom of the page. That's it — you're on, with full connectivity rather than messaging alone: texting, browsing, and streaming all work on qualifying plans.

Which T-Mobile plans include in-flight Wi-Fi

T-Mobile retired the Magenta lineup — along with Go5G, T-Mobile ONE, and Simple Choice — and replaced it with the Experience plans. If you are still on a Magenta plan you have not lost the benefit, but T-Mobile is migrating those accounts automatically, so the tier names on your bill will change even if nothing else does.

• Experience More — includes in-flight Wi-Fi alongside Netflix on Us and international data. This is the tier most people mean when they say the perk is "included".
• Experience Beyond — includes more in-flight Wi-Fi than More, on top of the Apple TV+ and Hulu bundle and T-Mobile Tuesdays. The most generous option if you fly often.
• Experience (entry tier) — check your plan's benefits page before you count on it; the session allowance is where T-Mobile differentiates the tiers.
• Retired Magenta, Go5G and Sprint-migrated plans — the benefit generally carries over, but the session count follows whichever Experience tier you are migrated onto.

Two things change often enough to check before a trip that matters: the partner airline list, and the number of included sessions per tier. Both live on T-Mobile's own benefits page, and both have moved more than once since the Experience launch.
