Page Plus is one of very few carriers still selling airtime by the minute. Every card is six cents a minute — what changes is how long the balance stays alive.
The one-year expiry on the $80 card applies on the standard pay-as-you-go plan; used as a cash balance on a monthly plan it expires in 120 days. Minutes can be topped up at any time.

What you'll actually pay
Auto Refill is worth taking on every monthly plan — $10 instead of $12, $27 instead of $29.95, $36 instead of $39.95 and $50 instead of $55. It requires a card on file, and it's the pricing Page Plus expects you to be on.
The 2G fallback is the thing to plan around. On the $12, $29.95 and $39.95 plans, running out of data drops you to 2G, where Page Plus notes streaming audio and video may stop working. Only the $55 plan has fully unlimited LTE with no cliff.
Taxes and fees here are unusually small. $0.09 on the $12 plan and $0.44 on the $55 plan before state tax, against roughly $5.00 per line at Consumer Cellular. There's no activation fee and no termination fee.
The pay-as-you-go math is the real story for light users. $80 buys 1,333 minutes valid for a year: $6.67/mo. Data add-on cards are sold separately at $5 for 1GB or $10 for 2GB, and unused data rolls over while service stays active.

How much are Page Plus plans?+
Four monthly plans at $12, $29.95, $39.95 and $55, dropping to $10, $27, $36 and $50 with Auto Refill. There are also pay-as-you-go cards at $10, $25, $50 and $80, all charging six cents per minute.
How does Page Plus refill work?+
You can refill manually or enroll in Auto Refill, which requires a credit or debit card and saves $2 to $5 a month depending on the plan. Pay-as-you-go balances last 120 days, except the $80 card which lasts a full year on the standard plan.
Which Page Plus plan is the best value?+
The $29.95 plan: $27 with Auto Refill. It includes unlimited talk, unlimited national and international texting, a $10 international calling credit and 3GB of data. The $39.95 tier adds 5GB of data and nothing else.
What happens when I run out of Page Plus data?+
On the $12, $29.95 and $39.95 plans your speed drops to 2G until the cycle renews, and Page Plus notes that streaming audio and video may be affected at that speed. The $55 plan has fully unlimited 4G LTE with no reduction. You can also buy add-on data at $5 for 1GB or $10 for 2GB, which rolls over while service is active.
Does Page Plus include mobile hotspot?+
No. None of the Page Plus monthly plans or pay-as-you-go cards include mobile hotspot data. If you tether, look at Tracfone's $50 plan or Red Pocket Premium, both of which include a dedicated allowance.
