The right T-Mobile plan for a family that wants the network and not the extras. At $35 per line across four lines it's competitive against the Experience tiers, and 50GB of premium data per line is more headroom than most households need. The compromises are consistent: hotspot only at max 3G speeds, SD video, no price guarantee, and Essentials traffic yields to other T-Mobile customers when towers are busy. If anyone in the house tethers, the maths changes and Experience More becomes the plan to price.

How much is T-Mobile Essentials for a family?
At list price: $65 for one line, $100 for two, $120 for three, $140 for four, $160 for five and $180 for six, which is the maximum. Four lines works out to $35 each. AutoPay takes $5 off per line and requires a bank account or debit card. Taxes and fees are extra, along with a device connection charge of up to $35 per line. Does T-Mobile Essentials include hotspot?
Only at max 3G speeds — there is no high-speed hotspot allowance on any Essentials line. Experience More includes 60GB at high speed and Experience Beyond includes 250GB.
