How we judged these plans ▾

Family pricing rewards line count, but the discount curve differs sharply between carriers and MVNOs. We compare the real four-line cost after taxes, and whether every line gets the same data priority.

We reweight the four pillars for multi-line households: per-line cost at four lines (the most common family size), hotspot per line, and whether features scale per line rather than per account. Each member typically wants their own hotspot, streaming credentials, and international inclusion.

Plans with explicit multi-line discounts (Visible's $5/line, Cricket's 4 to 5-line scaling) and per-line features rank highest. Flat-per-line plans (US Mobile) aren't penalized as 'bad family plans', they win on flexibility, but we're honest that their cost adds up faster than discount-structured rivals.
