T-Mix vs Experience More and Beyond: Switch or Stay?

T-Mix is cheaper for one line and lets you choose your perks. With three or four lines, today's Experience plans can cost less.

T-Mix More lines up with T-Mobile's Experience More, and T-Mix Loaded with Experience Beyond. The data, hotspot and travel allowances are nearly the same. What changes is the price, how perks work, and whether you keep a price guarantee. You don't have to switch: current customers can stay on their plan.

Key takeaways
T-Mix More is $75 vs $85 for Experience More on one line; Loaded is $95 vs $100 for Beyond.
At 3 or 4 lines, Experience plans with the third-line-free promo cost $10 to $30 less.
Data, hotspot and travel allowances are nearly identical. The difference is perks.
T-Mobile hasn't said whether T-Mix has a price guarantee. You can keep your current plan.

The short version

  • One line: switch. T-Mix is $5 to $10 cheaper and you choose your perks.
  • Three or four lines: compare first. Experience plans with the third-line-free promotion can cost less.
  • Want to keep your 5-Year Price Guarantee: stay. T-Mobile hasn't said whether T-Mix has one.

Prices by number of lines

T-Mix More$75$155$180
Experience Beyond$100$170$215
T-Mix Loaded$95$200$240

For one line, T-Mix wins: $10 less on the mid tier and $5 less on the top tier. With more lines, it flips. T-Mix More costs $10 to $15 more than Experience More, and Loaded costs $25 to $30 more than Beyond. That matches what T-Mobile told GeekWire: smaller accounts pay less, bigger ones a bit more.

The plans are almost the same apart from perks. On one line, T-Mix More's two Picks can cover Netflix with ads plus one more perk, like Hulu or Apple TV, for $10 less. If Netflix is the only perk you use, you still save $10 and get a second Pick.

Price guarantee5 yearsNot announced

On one line, Loaded's three Picks buy back exactly what Beyond includes: Netflix with ads, Hulu and T-Satellite. You pay $5 less and get Optimized Video Calls, but Apple TV would need a fourth Pick. The real gain is flexibility: you can drop T-Satellite or Hulu for Game Pass or YouTube Premium.

What you give up by switching

  • The 5-Year Price Guarantee on Experience plans. T-Mobile's T-Mix announcement doesn't mention one.
  • Any third-line-free credits or other promotions tied to your current plan.
  • Simplicity. Perks on T-Mix change in set windows, and unused Picks expire each quarter.
Financing a phone?
On T-Mix, phone deals cost Picks: two for an iPhone, three for an iPhone Pro, for three years. If you'd switch to get a new phone, check how many Picks that leaves for perks.

Who should switch

Switch if you're on one or two lines, bring your own phone, and would rather choose your perks than take Netflix and Apple TV. Stay if you have three or more lines on a promotion, value the price guarantee, or plan to use phone deals heavily. T-Mix arrives in November, so there's no rush: wait for T-Mobile to publish the final terms and check the price guarantee question first.
