How to Switch From Verizon to Visible

Same network, a much smaller bill. Here's how to move your number from Verizon to Visible, what to sort out first, and what you give up.

Visible runs on Verizon's network and is owned by Verizon, so switching mostly means a smaller bill: Visible's plans are $25, $35 and $45 a month with taxes included. You keep your number by transferring it in the Visible app with your Verizon account number and Number Transfer PIN. The main thing to sort out first is your phone: if you still owe Verizon for it, the balance comes due and the phone may be locked.

Key takeaways
Visible uses Verizon's network, so your coverage stays the same.
You need your Verizon account number and Number Transfer PIN.
Don't cancel Verizon first; the transfer closes the line.
If you owe on your phone, the balance usually comes due and the phone must be paid off to unlock.

Before you start

  • Check your phone works on Visible with Visible's compatibility check.
  • Check whether you still owe Verizon for the phone. Phones bought from Verizon since late January 2026 only unlock once they're paid off.
  • If you're on a Verizon family plan, find out what the other lines will pay once yours leaves.
  • Don't cancel Verizon. Transferring your number closes that line for you.

If you still owe Verizon for your phone

When your line leaves Verizon, the remaining phone balance usually comes due, and any monthly promo credits stop. Phones bought from Verizon since late January 2026 only unlock once paid off. Check the payoff amount in My Verizon first; our guide to switching while you still owe covers the options.

Leaving a Verizon family plan

Each person can move their own number with the account number and a transfer PIN, which the account owner creates. On Visible each line becomes its own account. The lines left on Verizon may pay more per line. See how to leave a family plan.

What you give up

  • Stores and phone support: Visible is app and chat only.
  • Data priority on Visible and Visible+; Visible+ Pro adds premium data.
  • Verizon's perks like bundled streaming, and its big phone deals.
  • Some international features; check Visible's travel options before a trip.

Not sure? Try Visible's free trial on a second line first; it runs alongside your Verizon service.
