The tier above is a fair step. H2O's $40 plan is also unlimited, with 40GB at full speed and a 10GB hotspot: ten dollars more for 10GB more full speed, double the hotspot and double both international credits. Worth it if you tether; unnecessary if you don't. Where the $40 tier is the better buy.

The plan to buy at H2O, and one of the better-value unlimited plans anywhere. 30GB at full speed covers almost any usage pattern, the 5GB hotspot is usable, and the international package, unlimited calling to 100+ countries plus a $10 roaming credit, is included rather than sold. The only real caveats are that taxes are extra and there's nowhere to walk into.

Consider instead: Red Pocket Premium. Red Pocket Premium is also $30 unlimited, with a larger 10GB hotspot, calling to 80+ countries and your choice of three networks.
