Pricing: cheap, and capped in a way that matters
$25/mo, online only. You get 30GB at up to 3 Mbps and then 1.5 Mbps for the rest of the cycle. 3 Mbps handles SD video, music, maps and browsing perfectly well — it does not handle HD streaming, large downloads or video calls comfortably.
The problem is internal. AT&T's own 12-month plan is about $20/mo with priority data, no speed cap on its 16GB, and a 10GB hotspot. It costs $5 less a month and is better in every respect except that it needs $240 up front.

Final Verdict
A reasonable plan held back by one number. If you genuinely only need SD video and browsing on a big allowance, 30GB at 3 Mbps for $25 on AT&T's own towers is fine — and 3 Mbps is more usable than the throttles most budget carriers impose. But AT&T undercuts it with its own annual plan at $20/mo, which is uncapped on its first 16GB and adds a 10GB hotspot. Buy this only if monthly flexibility is worth $5 a month and the hotspot to you.
