NOW Mobile is Comcast's prepaid wireless brand, sold alongside NOW Internet, NOW TV and NOW WiFi Pass. There is exactly one phone plan: unlimited 5G talk, text and data for $25 per line per month, taxes and fees included, with no contract and no credit check. That simplicity is the product. The eligibility rule is what decides whether it is available to you at all.
The eligibility gate
NOW Mobile is only available to Comcast home internet customers. That means an active Xfinity Internet subscription or an active NOW Internet subscription. This is not a promotional condition that lapses — it is the structure of the product. If you drop Comcast internet, you drop the eligibility with it. Treat the $25 as the mobile half of a bundle, not as a standalone prepaid rate you can compare directly against Mint or Tello.
What you get for $25
| NOW Mobile | |
|---|---|
| Price | $25/line/mo, taxes and fees included |
| Data | Unlimited 5G talk, text and data |
| Requirement | Active Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet |
| Credit check | None |
| Contract | None; pause and resume anytime |
| WiFi hotspots | Included (23M+ Xfinity hotspots) |
| Mobile hotspot | $5/mo add-on, 3G speeds |
| Canada & Mexico | $5/mo add-on |
The add-on structure is the thing to read carefully. Mobile hotspot is not included, and when you do add it for $5 it runs at 3G speeds — usable for email and messaging, not for working off a laptop. Canada and Mexico is likewise a separate $5. A NOW Mobile line with both add-ons is $35, which changes the comparison set considerably.
The network
Comcast is an MVNO on Verizon's network, the same arrangement that powers Xfinity Mobile. You get Verizon's nationwide 5G coverage. Comcast does not publish a speed cap for NOW Mobile, though independent testers at launch reported downloads around 30 Mbps even when the handset displayed a 5G icon — treat that as a reported observation rather than a published specification, and check current performance in your own area.
Who it's for
NOW Mobile makes sense if you are already paying Comcast for internet and want the cheapest possible line attached to it, particularly for a light user, a second line, or a household member who mostly lives on WiFi. The hotspot network genuinely helps in Comcast-dense metros. It makes no sense as a reason to start buying Comcast internet, and it is not the right comparison if you need real hotspot data or international use — at $35 all-in with add-ons, you are into territory where Visible gives you unlimited hotspot on the same Verizon network with no internet subscription required.
