NOW Mobile Review

One plan, one price, taxes included, no credit check. Comcast's prepaid brand strips wireless down to a single line item — but you cannot buy it unless Comcast already sells you internet.

NOW Mobile requires an active Comcast home internet subscription.

NOW Mobile is Comcast's prepaid wireless brand, sold alongside NOW Internet, NOW TV and NOW WiFi Pass. There is exactly one phone plan: unlimited 5G talk, text and data for $25 per line per month, taxes and fees included, with no contract and no credit check. That simplicity is the product. The eligibility rule is what decides whether it is available to you at all.

Key takeaways
One plan only: $25/line/month for unlimited 5G talk, text and data, taxes and fees included.
You must already be a Comcast home internet customer — either Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet. There is no standalone option.
No credit check, no annual contract, and service can be paused and resumed from the Xfinity app.
Add-ons are $5 each, including Canada and Mexico service and mobile hotspot at 3G speeds.
Includes access to Comcast's Xfinity WiFi hotspot network, which the company puts at more than 23 million hotspots.
Bundled with NOW Internet, the pair starts around $55/month, with each extra mobile line at $25.

The eligibility gate

NOW Mobile is only available to Comcast home internet customers. That means an active Xfinity Internet subscription or an active NOW Internet subscription. This is not a promotional condition that lapses — it is the structure of the product. If you drop Comcast internet, you drop the eligibility with it. Treat the $25 as the mobile half of a bundle, not as a standalone prepaid rate you can compare directly against Mint or Tello.

Existing Xfinity Mobile customers can't simply switch
Comcast's own community forum has store staff telling customers the only route from Xfinity Mobile to NOW Mobile is to cancel, port out to another carrier, and port back in. If you are already on Xfinity Mobile and eyeing the $25 rate, confirm the current process with Comcast before cancelling anything.

What you get for $25

NOW Mobile
Price$25/line/mo, taxes and fees included
DataUnlimited 5G talk, text and data
RequirementActive Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet
Credit checkNone
ContractNone; pause and resume anytime
WiFi hotspotsIncluded (23M+ Xfinity hotspots)
Mobile hotspot$5/mo add-on, 3G speeds
Canada & Mexico$5/mo add-on

The add-on structure is the thing to read carefully. Mobile hotspot is not included, and when you do add it for $5 it runs at 3G speeds — usable for email and messaging, not for working off a laptop. Canada and Mexico is likewise a separate $5. A NOW Mobile line with both add-ons is $35, which changes the comparison set considerably.

The network

Comcast is an MVNO on Verizon's network, the same arrangement that powers Xfinity Mobile. You get Verizon's nationwide 5G coverage. Comcast does not publish a speed cap for NOW Mobile, though independent testers at launch reported downloads around 30 Mbps even when the handset displayed a 5G icon — treat that as a reported observation rather than a published specification, and check current performance in your own area.

Who it's for

NOW Mobile makes sense if you are already paying Comcast for internet and want the cheapest possible line attached to it, particularly for a light user, a second line, or a household member who mostly lives on WiFi. The hotspot network genuinely helps in Comcast-dense metros. It makes no sense as a reason to start buying Comcast internet, and it is not the right comparison if you need real hotspot data or international use — at $35 all-in with add-ons, you are into territory where Visible gives you unlimited hotspot on the same Verizon network with no internet subscription required.
