At $25 with taxes on top it competes with Visible and Metro, both of which quote all-in, and Tello's own $20 Power tier gives you twice the hotspot for less money. Take Max if you genuinely need uncapped phone data; otherwise read the rung below it first.
Consider instead: Tello Power. Five dollars less, twice the hotspot, and 20GB of phone data. Unless you pass 20GB regularly, Power is the better plan.

Is Tello Max really unlimited?
Yes. You get 50GB at full 5G speed each month, then data keeps working at a reduced speed until your plan renews. Unused high-speed data rolls over.
How much hotspot does Tello Max include?
10GB a month. That's less than the data allowance, unlike Tello's capped plans where hotspot matches the data.
Is Tello good?
For one line on T-Mobile's network at a low price, yes. You give up stores and priority data. Tello's support has a good reputation with customers, and you can test coverage on T-Mobile's own free trial before switching.
What network does Tello use?
T-Mobile's 5G and 4G LTE network. Coverage is the same as T-Mobile's map, but as a prepaid MVNO your data can be slower than T-Mobile's own customers when a tower is busy.
Are taxes included in Tello's price?
No. Tello adds taxes, which vary by location, and a small cost-recovery fee of up to 30 cents a month. There is no activation fee and no contract.
