Samsung Electronics has begun rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S25 series, introducing real-time visual conversation capabilities powered by Gemini Live. The update, free of charge starting April 7th, focuses on enhancing user interaction through AI-powered assistance.

The new feature allows Galaxy S25 users to engage in conversational interactions by pressing and holding the side button to activate Gemini Live. Users can then show the AI what they see through their camera or share their screen, enabling real-time dialogue for various tasks.

Examples provided by Samsung include receiving suggestions on organizing items by pointing the camera at them or getting personalized style advice while browsing online retailers by sharing the screen.

Samsung states that this integration of visual AI seeks to provide a more natural and helpful way for users to manage everyday tasks. The ability for AI to process visual input and respond in real time is intended to make the device feel more intuitive and supportive.

According to Jay Kim, Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics, this collaboration with Google represents a step towards more integrated mobile AI experiences. He highlighted the potential of this visual capability to enhance how users interact with their devices and the world around them.

The Gemini Live feature with camera and screen sharing capabilities is now available to all Galaxy S25 series users through a free software update.
